A few other things have been happening in Unknown land that you all should know about as well. First off we have signed a new licensing deal with a company called Rumblefish to get our music heard in all sorts of new and exciting places. They were the ones that got us on the Pabst Blue Ribbon Comp. We have been included on a video called Man Down from Frontier Films. You can check that out at http://www.frontierfilms.com/vitem.htm. It's a video of wipeouts and crashes in extreme sports. Also, Fusion TV, a show that is seen on Fox Sports Net has played The Real Thing and ?? as part of their show on skateboarding. Check local listings for the Fox show. Pretty cool eh? Who says you gotta be a huge band to get some love!

This is all on the verge of new record that will hopefully be recorded near the latter part of the year. Did you think we were done?? NO WAY!

Also, let me take this opportunity to announce that our guitarist Pete has just gotten married to his girl Rita. We all hope the best for them and wish them well as they take on the marriage brigade.

*******************************************

Radio Lied to Me is now available all over the place in the US. If your local store doesn't have it, ASK! Amp Records from Canada has picked up some of our stock and Road To Ruin Distrobution has spread the record all over the States. There's no reason to not be able to get a copy of it. You can also always order from us online or take part in the 5 for 25 deal.

*******************************************

Thanks again for supporting us and our music. It means the world to us. Look for newsletter 49 sometime in the Summer.

UPDATED: Mar 13, 2004: What's new? -- Photos, Show Info for tour. There's a new online compilation out called Cleveland Ain't it Fun. It's has a track from us and other bands like the Fun Machine, This Is Exploding, Subtones, Coffinberry, Solo Flyer and more. Check it out at Cleveland, Ain't It Fun

Thanks for coming out to the Marky Ramone show. It was a blast and there was TONS of people there. Good to see the crappy weather didn't keep people away. The show in February is now confirmed at the Grog Shop. Check out the shows link for details. Also, for the third year in a row, er well 3 out of 4 years, that the Free Times has had the Music Awards, we made the ballot for Best Punk Band. Go to the Free Times website at The Free Times to VOTE! Do it. Help us win again!

Well we haven't heard from many of you recently so I decided to start one of those Yahoo group things to copy off of our good friends the Pavers. So if you want to join up, send an email to the-unknown-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. The name of the group is the-unknown if you want to search for it that way. Or,duh, go to this link The Unknown Yahoo Group.

UPDATED: October 4, 2003: Hey everyone. Not a lot going on these days, but that's how it goes sometimes. We have been laying low for a bit trying to regroup and get our shit togther for some new shows and new songs. Plans are to record a new batch of songs early next year for a new EP or whatever we can come up with. Brian is still recovering from his broken wrist, and we are really excited about the new songs that we have brewing. In the meantime, look for a few shows out of us in Clevo and maybe down in Pittsburgh in the next few months. Check out the site, got some new things up. The Pabst Blue Ribbon beer comp is out and details on that are on the compilations page. Its a new CD out with Cleveland bands and Kansas City bands on it. It came out really well. Look around town for us or one of the other Clevo bands and try and get a copy. The Cleveland bands on the comp are Coffinberry, This is Exploding, Dakota Floyd, Solo Flyer, Kiddo, 2nd Half, Cowslingers, and Viva Caramel. That's all for now.
UPDATED: July 13, 2003: We had an awesome time with the Pavers, Reno Divorce and the Fun Machine last Sunday at Superdan and Mary's basement. It was one of those nights where everything seemed to work out and we all had a great time. It was just about as hot as I have ever been performing, but it made it more fun in a way. Plus, everyone was just as sweaty from just being in the basement all night. Big props to all the out of towners that came in for the show. Especially Sara(h), Pineapple Face and Daysareblood. You guys need to read this and fill out the GuestMap. It waas great to meet you all. I've got some pics up on the photos page. Oh yeah I haven't gotten around to the Stockage pics yet. Sorry! If you are in Clevo come to the show this Saturday, it will kick your ass.-- Ken

From June 28...Stockage ruled. My experience at Stockage this year was fantastic. Unfortunatley Wayne and I couldn't be there for the whole event (Pete and Brian were able to), but it ruled. First of all, all the bands I got to see on Saturday were really good. I especially got into The Kowalskis, Philthy Sanchez, Spitfirerevolver (with the amazing Noah Smit on drums) and The Last. Our set was really fun. All of the Cleveland people made it a great time for us (the Fun Machine crew (Tom, Steve, Dan, Rick and Nikki) Rita, Mary, Noah, Tonia, Sebastian and Kate) as well as people like assassin32, Chuck Nasty, Andrew Reno Divorce, and the guys from Mine. Plus a couple of people that were singing along that I didn't know. Thanks for supporting us and making our time slot a good one. I think we had a nice crowd in there at 6pm. And from what I could tell, most of the people go into it. Our set of Never, Teenage, Merry, Seven, Sorry, Cyclone, Radio and Goodbye was short, but sweet because of all the peple I just mentioned, and I hope I didn't miss anyone.
As for ALL. Man their set kicked so much ass I still feel it. They opened with about 8 instramentals including Uranus and Birds and the other ones were fucked up. LIKE REALLY FUCKED UP but fucked up cool. They did some crazy ass shit they usually don't play and it rocked. What I can remember was the following: This World, Hate To Love, GnuTheme, Just Perfect, Sum, Nobody's, Carnage, Scary Sad, Breakin Up, The Skin, Fairweather Friend, Teresa, I'll Get There, Until I Say So, Can't Say, Dot, I Want Out, and I think thats it. As an encore they did some NEW Descendents songs with Karl and Bill singing and Ride The Wild too. Anchor Grill. Man that is a fucking great song even with Bill singing out of tune.

Got a couple shows booked for July and a biggie with DOWN BY LAW in August. I'm updating parts of the site this week, look for goodies all around. Check out the Features page, the showlist and the show diaries. The Stockage poster is up too. --Ken

The Unknown. Newsletter #45. May 18, 2003.
Hello and welcome to the The Unknown's official newsletter. This is Newsletter #45.
On to the news:
Well we are back from the European Tour and have settled back into life here in Cleveland. We had an amazing time while we were gone, and the tour was the best one we have ever been on. The people involved with our tour were the best people ever. There is a full tour diary with over 13,000 words and 500 pictures posted at our website. We can't thank everyone enough for their support at the shows.
And of course the whole reason we went on tour was to promote the new CD! yes RADIO LIED TO ME is now available! This is our fifth album, and it's our best one yet. This new CD has already brought in some great reviews. This was written in the Scene, a local Cleveland zine, this week:
"If Unknown frontman Ken Blaze feels cheated by the FM dial, he's earned that right. The songs on his band's sixth full-length album, Radio Lied to Me, were made for the airwaves, with unsinkable harmonies and heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics that easily one-up strong-selling, similar-minded national acts such as Simple Plan and Bowling for Soup.
And still Cleveland's longest-running pop-punk band gets no love from the broadcasting powers. On Radio Lied to Me, the band blasts through 12 affecting nuggets like a caffeine-free throwback to All. Blaze, backed by growling guitars and a nimble rhythm section, has never sounded better; he's one of the few vocalists of his ilk who understands the difference between pleading and whining. The only downside: Radio Lied to Me is the band's last album with guitarist Chris Roscoe, and it remains to be seen how they'll recover from the loss of their primary songwriter. Still, a better send-off could hardly be imagined. ---Jason Bracelin, Scene"
Don't you think its about time you got our new CD! Well go on over to the website or Interpunk.com or Bosstuneage.com and get yourself a new record. C'mon you want it.
Also the 5 for 25 deal is back. lots of people have been asking about it. Now with the new CD released we have brought it back.
The five CDs you will get are:
"Change" from 1993.
"Rocket Pop" from 1996.
"Pop Art" from 2000.
"The Real Thing" from 2002.
"Radio Lied To Me" from 2003.

To order, just send us the money at PO BOX 110361, Cleveland, OH, 44111. Don't write any checks or MOs to the Unknown, write them to Ken Blaze. Say 5 for 25 or something like that in the note. You can't beat this deal. Oh yeah, U.S. A. residents only please. We don't want to deal with all the postage crap. And if you feel so inclined to include postage costs go ahead, though we won't require it. Do it now before we come to my senses. This is for all those people who have never heard the band before or who only have one stinking song from a comp. Get off your lazy ass and do this now!

*****
Our next live show is at STOCKAGE 2003 in Ft. Collins Colorado at the Starlight. This is the annual festival put on by the guys in ALL and features 40+ bands from all over playing over three days from June 27-29. We play Saturday at 6pm. For a complete list of bands and schedules, go to allcentral.com
Other shows coming up:
Saunday July 6th in Superdan's Basement. (We have yet to find a nbame for this new underground establishment.) with the PAVERS, RENO DIVORCE and the Fun Machine.
Saturday July 12th at Pat's in the Flat's, more details later.

UPDATED: April 15, 2003: We have returned from our European tour. I'm collecting my thoughts and getting the tour diary all set up for everyone to read and see all the pics. It's gonna take a week or so. Be patient. What I can say now is that this was the best tour we have ever been on, and we have met some of the most amazing people and bands. Big thanks to Martine, Paolo and Aston, for setting the tour up. There's tons more to thank, and I will. Don't worry. I have around 300 photos and 12,000 words already written and shot for the diary. The problem now is writing the code and getting the stuff up online. If anyone overseas has photos of us please email them. I will include everyting I can in the tour diary. Check the message board for some updates here and there. The daily scoop will have some tour stuff too. I wish I had the chance to get online more often in Europe to use the Daily Scoop but it was too difficlut.

Yeah so i kept up with the diaries for MOST of the sessions. As it stands right now we are mixing the new CD and it is about half finished. We are waiting to get more studio time to go back in and mix the last 5 songs. So far we are very happy with what producer Tommy Rich has done. The artwork is being completed as we speak and the release date is set for mid-March to coincide with our tour of Europe and the UK! Yes if you didnt already know we are going over to the UK and Europe from march 20 until April 13th. All you people overseas will be the first to see a tour with the new lineup. Oh yeah guess I should tell you al labout that eh? Well since our beloved Chris has left us to Japan (he left on January 21) we have welcomed Pete Woodward into the band as our new guitar player. You all may know Pete from his stints in Dreyfus, Thumbtack and Sidecar. Don't worry kids, Pete will still be playing with Sidecar as well as the Unknown. So now you get a double dose of the blonde bomber in the Clevo scene. Ha.

The Unknown. Newsletter #44. March 7, 2003.
Hello and welcome to the The Unknown's official newsletter. This is Newsletter #44.

On to the news:
I can't beleive it has been three months since I sent out a newsletter. Well A LOT has happened in that time.

When we last wrote to you, we were about to have a going away show/party for Chris our guitarist. Well it happened, and it was one of the best most enjoyable shows we ahve ever played. We were fortunate to welcome back old members Pete Ahn, Thom Janini and Mike Vaughn along with our newest member Pete Woodward in the big sendoff. We played over 30 songs from every era of the band and let everyone play a bucnh of songs from every record. Sidecar, Dreyfus and the Fun Machine and Scott and Josh from the Pavers helped out that night by playing as well and made it a great night. Chris and his wife arrived safely in Japan and we wish them well.

So as for us, we spent the rest of February finishing the new record entitled RADIO LIED TO ME. This new CD will be released on Boss Tuneage Records on March 24th. The CD is the last to feature Chris and it has the following 12 songs on it: Merry Go Round, Postcard, Radio Lied To Me, She's Sorry, Do You Know That Girl, Picture This, Little Green Shirt, Teenage Dream, Two Weeks, Seven, Things In Life and Say Goodbye. I think we did a good job on it. Why don't you buy one and tell us we didn't!

We put a lot of time and effort into the recording with Tommy Rich at CloserLook Studios in Cleveland. He did a fantastic job, and we can't thank him enough for his hard work.

Look for Radio Lied To Me at your local independent record store. If you don't see it ASK FOR IT.

The Unknown. Newsletter #42. October 21, 2002.
Hello and welcome to the The Unknown's official newsletter. This is Newsletter #42. Internet version.

*****

It's been a while since we've written to all of you. Here's what's happening.
We've gotten a few emails on this subject since the posts came up on the message board about the 5 for 25 deal. Let's make it official. From now til Christmas we are offering 5 CDs for 25 bucks. That's right, you heard us, 5 for 25. What a DEAL!

As you all know, we are recording a new CD. The recording begins on December 2nd. We will be needing a ton of money to cover costs and every bit of cash we can come up with to help pay for the new CD costs will help. So this 5 for 25 deal isn't really a bad idea for you or for us. 25 bucks gets us a half hour of recording time. So if we can get a handful of people to take this deal, we will essentially raise a few hours of time.

The five CDs you will get are:
"Change" from 1993.
"Rocket Pop" from 1996.
"Still Unknown" from 1999.
"Pop Art" from 2000.
"The Real Thing" from 2002.

That's 56 songs for 25 bucks. That's 44 cents a piece. How the hell can you go wrong?????? Plus, its even cheaper when you think it will cost us like 5 bucks to send them via first class mail ... so if you can see me in person, do that!

There aren't many Still Unknown CDs left however. If they are all gone when you order you will get Seems So Live instead. The Seems So Live CDs were a limited time CDR release in 1999. I'll offer them again if the Still Unknown CD sells out. Once Still is sold out it looks like it will be a long time before it's re-released, if ever. The same goes for Rocket Pop, although I have recently gotten a hold of some backlogged copies, so they are here for now too.

*****

Right now we have no shows booked because we are preparing for the studio and the recording of our 6th CD. This CD will be the last CD that long time guitarist Chris Roscoe will be appearing on as he will be moving to Japan with his wife in January. Which brings us to our next show. Our next show (barring any unforseen circumstances) will be a going away party for Chris in the early part of January. This will be a huge extravaganza featuring our friend's bands and tons of food, drink and just plain fun! It will most likely be at a hall here in Cleveland. For now the date is tentatively set for Saturday January 11. Mark your calendars. This will be an event you will not want to miss. Anyone who is out of town and wants to be at this event needs to contact us about the details. There will be many surprises, and things you do not want to miss.

*****

Also, we have a TON, and I mean A TON, of new merch for sale. We now have everything imagineable for sale online at our new webstore. We have new keychains, buttons and music for sale through INTERPUNK and we have new shirts, mugs, mousepads, frisbees, license plate holders, lunchboxes and all kinds of crazy crap for sale through Cafepress. Go to our website now and get a new Christmas ornament for your loved one for the holiday season! How can you not? I mean how else can you get a pair of Unknown boxers or panties???

*****

Speaking of the studio, we are going to finish up our version of Blue Christmas to be available this Christmas as well. This will be available as soon as possible for a very very cheap price. Just think of Christmas with the Unknown. How nice.

We also have some sad news to report this time around. Our longtime guitarst Chris Roscoe will be leaving us at the end of the year. Chris will be moving to Japan. That's right I said Japan. The commute back and forth is going to be too much so we have to say goodbye. It is going to be a hard thing for all of us as Chris has played in the Unknown since 1994. But this is something he has always wanted to do, and now he is going to do it. But the good news is that we are writing one more album with Chris playing the guitar. We are trying to make it our best yet. So don't fret! Also, look for some kind of going away party/show sometime near the end of the year here in Cleveland. It will be a one of a kind bash. And this is NOT the end of the Unknown. We have the next guitarist waiting in the wings to continue the Unknown tradition. Some if you know who it is...........

So this leads me to another contest question. The first 3 people to email me with the correct answer will get the new Unknown EP the Real Thing. Ok kids, what was the first song that the Unknown recorded that featured Chris on guitar. The FIRST one. It's an easy question if ya know your history. First three emails win. And remember, no former roadies, groupies, band members or family can answer. Besides you should all have the EP by now anyways......
I finally fixed the POLLS on the site. Check it out. NEW AND IMPROVED!. Come and share your thoughts on tough questions like favorite songs, favorite albums, ugliest band member and other stupid stuff.

NEWS: January 29, 2002. Well this is just an update to let you all know that we are working hard on the new CDEP which will be called "The Real Thing." You can see some pics from the layout on this page now. All we have to do is mix the songs and send it off to Aston at Boss Tuneage and it will be released. I'm thinking maybe around the middle of March for a release date. Until then keep checking back for more updates!

NEWS: December 28, 2001 This is a sad sad sad day in Cleveland. I was informed by Danny at Speak In Tongues that the owners of Pit Cleveland decided to get their rich daddy to buy the building and evict Danny and the people who run Speak In Tongues, which includes Ken. He was told via a note on the door to leave by Jan 3rd. We just lost the best place in the whole country for underground shows. Apparently they want to make the space into rehearsal spots. That sucks ASS. For the last 7 years the Unknown has played at SIT and has considered it home. Now it's gone. Just like that. This place, whether you like it or not, has been the ONLY place to independently promote and put on shows of bands and performers that would otherwise be totally ignored. This will be a day i always remember as a day that a part of me died. Nothing we ever replace what SIT is and was to me. I hope the people at the PIT have a nice time ruining what little bit of a scene we have. DO NOT go to the PIT, DO NOT give them your money. If they gave a shit at all about the music scene they would let SIT operate as it has over the last 7 years. The two places have existed together for a while now, why not let it go on? I could rant all day on this. But that s all for now. DECEMBER 31 will be the last show at SIT and we will be a part of it. We will play as will some other bands of members of the collective who run SIT. If you are in Cleveland come down and support the last great bastian of underground music. This is a shitty way to bring in the year, but it is only fitting to have one last show.

NEWS: September 18, 2001 Well here we are a week after the events in New York, Washington and Pittsburgh. We'd like to express our deepest sympathy to all those affected by the attacks, and our thanks go out to all the people involved with the search and rescue. There has been news on the internet that a New York punk band called the Bullys had a firefighter in their band, and he is missing because of the tragedy. This hits home for us because as most of you know Brian, our bass player, is a firefighter as well. We all hope for the best and hope that he will be found soon. If you want to help out with al of this craziness, go to your local red cross and give blood. A lot of people need the help right now.
In other news, we have put up our 2001 tour diary and updated a bunch of the pages. Updates are on the merch page (NEW SHIRTS), the bands and flyer pages, and of course the tour diary. See you on the 6th.

NEWS: AUGUST 31, 2001 Hey everyone! We are back from tour and ready to do one last show this summer, tonight at the Lemon in Lakewood. We had a great time out on the road and a new tour diary will be posted soon. In the meantime check out some of the new things in the site and come on down to the show tonight if you are in Cleveland. Also, see that new graphic at the right of the page? That is our new Tshirt design. Pretty cool eh? You can get one in White or Khaki and they are only ten bucks. So come on down to the show and get a new shirt! See ya.

NEWS: JUNE, 2001 Some more good news. We just got the new FRACTURE magazine from our friends in the UK and THE UNKNOWN was voted as #10 in the Best Live Band Category in a poll voted by the readers. Once we get it scanned we'll post it on the website as well. Fracture is one of the biggest indie/punk zines in the UK, similar to MRR in the states, and to have been voted as one of the best live bands for 2000 was a great honor. THANKS to all the brits who voted and came to see us play last year. We had a great time and we're glad it went over well. Now we've got some proof. We also just finished a short recording stint in the new Magnetic North Studios now located in Ohio City in Cleveland. We went in and recorded a new track called "Cyclone" for a compilation by poppunk.com. The comp is due out in July. Its called POP PUNK FEVER and will be available in your town wherever you are. Check out one of the upcoming shows and you can hear "Cyclone" and a couple other new songs that will most likely end up on a new cd single later this year. We think they are pretty cool....go to poppunk.com for more info. Also, a blast from the past, an old friend of ours, Chris from the band the Others, sent us an old ticket to one of our early shows way back from 1991. Check it out on the past shows/flyers page under 4-28-91. See ya!

10-20-99: Hello in Unknown land!
Its been a while since I sent out an email to everyone so I figured I would update you all with what is going on. So far we have had a month's worth of great chatnights. If you dont know what its all about c'mon down this thursday, (and everythursday) at midnight (thats technically friday morning...but what the hell...EST of course) and talk with the band and fellow computer punks. Its been a great time so far. Follow the links from the Jiffi Pop page to the Unknown to the chat link. Its easy and fun so do it and be cool!
The new Puzzles 7" has been selling well in both the USA and in the UK. Aston and his label Boss Tuneage has been busting his ass to promote and sell the record and we really appreciate it!! This is all leading to what will hopefully be a UK tour next summer ! WOW! We are still yet to finalize anything, but the details should be worked out by the beginning of the year. Also, Fracture has given us another amazingly cool review..check it out on the reviews page. We also have plenty of Still Unknown CDS left as well as the Change CD and Seems So lIve...there's even a couple Rocket Pop CDs floating around...
Also, we have started work on the next Unknown cd. "What? Are they nuts?" You say, but yes tis true. We hope to have a whole new cd ready by next summer for the possible UK tour. So far we have laid down some basic trax. The first of those released will be the song "Switch." That song will be the Unknown's inclusion on the Jiffi Pop Rock Comp CD that will be out sometime after the first of the year. The comp is ALL OHIO bands. So far bands confirmed for the CD are: The Unknown, duh...ROD, Sidecar, The Scrubs, Sparechange, 57 Defective, Thumbtack, Dreyfus, Cripplekid. There will be more im told, they just havent confirmed yet....Any bands in OHIO that have some GOOD songs recorded WELL, drop me a line and we'll see if there is any more room for you..Remember, its a Jiffi POP comp, so its got to be poppy in some way...
As for shows, there are a bunch in the works. Right now we are working on a local show in November and 5-7 out of town shows with our buds ROD in December. It will be a busy end of the year with shows and recording, but it should be a blast. Keep checking our shows page and you will know where to see us....
Thats all for now
And maybe someday soon...I'll see you on the moon.
Ken and the Unknown.

9-24-99 Hello. Some news to report. We are going into the studio on Saturday afternoon to record some basic tracks and begin the massive construction of our new CD! Yes, it is true we are recording more damn songs. Chris from Magnetic North Studio had a cancellation this weekend and offered us the chance to take the time that was booked. We couldn't refuse. This will be the first time in the studio in 2 years! But its about time. We will see what we come up with in days work. Odds are we will get basic tracks done for about five or six songs. If things arent going that well we may just record one or two full songs to use on the upcoming Jiffi Pop comp and the Get Happy comp. In other news... The chatroom nights have gone pretty well recently. But I want to see more of you there this thursday! Its fun. Come check it out. Look for a bunch of shows in November. we are gonna take it easy in Oct. with only one or two shows. See you all soon!

8-11-99
Welcome to the new and improved Unknown website. I hope you enjoy the new sections and I will never have to bother anyone about what our address is again. Please remember to update your link to www.jiffipoprecords.com. If you have any trouble or find any dead links on the new site, please drop me a line and let me know. I moved the whole site off of the AOL server so they can't screw me up any longer. In other news, we have a new 7" out on Boss Tuneage records entitled "Puzzles" Aston from BT picked the songs he wanted to release, and he did it. We'll have those available at the next show. Which reminds me, we are playing a bunch in the next few weeks. C'mon down. The shows page is updated for more info on that. We also have the change CDS available as you know. See you all soon.

7-31-99
Hey everyone! Time to let you know whats happening. FINALLY the Change CD is out!!! Woohoo. You can order it direct from us ... you know the address ... for only $8ppd. The CD version has 4 live tracks and an extra studio track. All you die hard Change fans take note! All the LIVE songs are unreleased songs we never recorded...Its definately a nostalgic thing for us....at least me and Wayne...now you can hear too. There's a few new shows coming up for us in August and September, check the shows link often...See ya.

6-17-99
Hello. Just thought I'd update everyone on whats going on. First of all, the new cd "Still Unknown" is selling well and we would all like to thank everyone who has picked up a copy. Second, the Change CD is closer and closer to becoming a reality. All the artwork is done, and now its a matter of remastering the original DATS and compiling the LIVE songs that we want. The delay has been getting back into Magnetic North Studio to get everything done. Chris has moved to a new studio and right now things are a little hectic for him. Not to worry we'll be getting in there soon enough. Also, Chris will probably be recording our next CD in late fall. But more on that later. Thirdly, I am proud to announce that the Unknown will be on a few more releases coming out this summer. First, BOSS TUNEAGE in England has agreed to put out a 7" with "Puzzles" as the main track and a bunch of LIVE songs as the extras. That should be out real soon. Second, MP3.com has released a FREE CD that includes the MP3 version of "Self Control." MP3.COM released 250,000 of these suckers entitled "the best 103 songs you've never heard" It has 103 songs, an Austin Powers preview and a ton of other cool shit. And its great exposure for us. Go visit the MP3.com site and check out some new music. Thanks for reading and check out the shows coming up in July, they should be a blast!

4-25-99
Hello again everybody. Hope all is well. We've got a couple shows next month on the 1sy and the 15th to promote the new cds a little bit. If you havent picked it up yet come on down to one of the shows and check us out. Or if you need to order through the website. Also, we sent out some snail mail this week promoting the shows and the cds. If you got one of these flyers and are new to visiting the site, drop me an email and I'll add you to the email list. The email list is sent out a lot more that the snail mail flyers because its so expensive to send out a few hundred postcards. The third poll will be up in the next month or so. I know its a bit late, but ive been busy with other Unknown projects (including the change cd!)... its on the way...

2-20-99
February 1999. This marks the first time we have ever released two things at once. We will unvail two CDs at our show tonight. "Still Unknown" is already selling well and the new LIVE CD "Seems So Live" will also be available tonight for the first time!!! This has been in the making for the lst year and we finally got our shit together and got it done in time to have a joint release date. The live cd has a mix of songs on it, 16 total, that were taken from board tapes from various shows over the course of four years at the Phantasy Nite Club in Cleveland. The overall sound quality is great. We're very hapy with it. Also new to the page is the Lyrics section. Ever wondered what the hell we're saying in Annie Mae? Now you know. The lyrics to the album "Rocket Pop" arre now posted. Soon the rest of the songs will be up as well. See ya.

2-6-99
Well here we are on the verge of the release of the new CD!!!!!!! "Still Unknown" will be in our grubby little hands on FEBRUARY 9th!!!!!!!! As soon as that day comes they will be available through mail order for only $8ppd!!!!!! Just send the cash to Jiffi Pop Records, POBox 110361, Cleveland OH 44111. Every order will get the new CD, a new button! and a special gift. We want to get rid of all of these things right away so send in the dough!!!! But seriously, Wayne is back from Japan and we're getting ready for a show at the Phantasy on Feb. 20th. It was originally booked as a benefit for the Cleveland Fire Dept., but now it looks like its the unofficial release party for the CD. Hope everyone in the Clevo are can make it down! ...As of right now 1000 people (officially) have visited the site. It only took 5 months to hit that milestone. Thanks for visiting us. We appreciate it.

1-8-99
Happy New Year! everyone. As I write this, Wayne is strutting around in Japan with all of his Asian friends. Hope all is well. He'll be back in time for some February shows. Well to start off the new year we've added a new poll to the site to find out just where all of these hits are coming from....So please enter your region. We're curious. Also check out the discography for info on two new releases for 1999. One of which, the "got a minute?" comp CD, is already out. "Still Unknown" is slated for a late February release date...Check out the Disco page for the CD artwork.

Hello hopefully more and more of you have seen the new page. Thanks for all the email! Well there is no news on the cd as of yet, but we have decided to put out a new 5-song seven inch in time for the tour in early September. (See the SHOWS link for all the dates) We will be releasing one song from the Big Blue Meenie sessions (SELF CONTROL) two songs from demos we recorded last year (PUZZLES & INCREDIBLE) and two older songs that have come out in obscure places (MY KIND & BIFF) all of these will be the new Who Are We single JPR009 due out in September. Well a lot has happened to us over the last year. If you are at this page then you know that this is a new site. I (ken) will now take over the webpage from our old webmaster Dave. I finally got myself a computer and its much easier for me to this and to update it regularly. So bookmark this new page and keep coming back. As I learn how to do more things more will turn up on the site.
